Are you a pregnant or postpartum mama and not a fan of Kale or Green Tea smoothie? then a tumeric smoothie is for you. Tumeric  is an orange pungent powder that is packed with antioxidants. It’s a spice that is commonly used in Indian cuisine and not easily noticed. Turmeric is a rhizomatous herbaceous perennial plant of the ginger family. It has a slightly bitter taste so  blend it with a sweet fruit and use about 1/2 tsp, you won’t even notice it in your smoothie. Tumeric supports healthy body function, its good for your heart, skin, liver and lungs. It prevents bloating, is a natural antibiotic, speeds the healing of your wounds, a great skin tonic, improves digestion and is a natural detoxifier. According to studies, tumeric has the most powerful antioxidants in the world. Its a must try for an expecting or new mom.

Here’s a quick easy recipe: Prep Time 5 – 7 minutes

1 cup of coconut milk

1 banana/mango chunks/a few slices of pineapple

1/2 tsp tumeric

1/2 tsp cinnamon powder

1/2 tsp ginger

1 tsp chia seeds

1 tsp coconut oil


1. Combine all ingredients in a blender

2. Blend on high until smooth and creamy
